Content Governance Framework
Designing and implementing a unified content governance framework across multiple divisions, replacing ad hoc publishing practices with consistent standards, clear intake processes, and measurably improved quality at scale.
The Problem
Multiple divisions were managing web content independently without shared standards, governance, or intake processes. The result was inconsistent brand execution, variable content quality, duplicated effort, and no systematic way to prioritize or track web requests across the organization. There was no single source of truth for how content should be structured, reviewed, or published.

The Approach
I audited content operations across all three divisions, mapping where inconsistencies were introduced, where requests stalled, and where quality standards were being applied unevenly. From there I designed a unified governance framework that established shared standards for taxonomy, URL structure, metadata, naming conventions, and publishing approval, then built the intake and prioritization workflow that gave teams a predictable, transparent process for submitting and tracking requests.
- Content operations audit across all divisions to identify gaps and failure points
- Unified taxonomy, URL structure, and metadata standards defined
- Intake and prioritization workflow designed and documented
- QA checklist built and embedded in the publishing process
- Content author training developed and delivered across divisions
- Governance documentation maintained as a living reference

The Outcome
Consistent brand and quality standards were established across all three divisions. The Siteimprove Quality Assurance score reached 97.1, publishing became faster and more predictable, and non-technical teams gained the confidence and tools to manage content independently within clear guardrails. The governance framework became the foundation for all subsequent web operations work across the organization.
